This is the biggest and best Independence Day celebration
on the North Shore! It is brought to you by the all-volunteer Northbrook 4th of July
Association and is funded through business and individual donations and grants.
Saturday, June 25th
- Kick off the celebration with Movie Night on the Village Green showing
Yogi Bear. The evening begins at 6:30 pm with food vendors in the park and of course,
the Sunset popcorn wagon. Strictly Fun Entertainment will be there to DJ, and there will
even be inflatables for the kids. Don’t miss our 2nd annual Movie Night!

Monday, July 4th
- Begin the day with the traditional Pancakes in the Park from 7 am – 11 am
at Village Green corner of Shermer and Meadow. Don’t miss The Annual Police versus
Firemen department softball game starting at 10 am at the Village Green Park baseball
diamond; listen to the terrific songs of the Dooley Brothers Band playing in the Gazebo
from 9 am – 11 am
- Participation in the Park District’s Liberty Loop will benefit the 4th of July Association.
- The bike parade sponsored by George Garner Cyclery kicks off at 2 pm from the
corner of Western and Cherry followed by the mile-long Northbrook Parade that begins
at 2:30 pm from the corner of Western and Cherry, ending at Village Green Park.
The community floats and musical units participating this year will celebrate the theme
of “Honoring Old Glory”
- The fireworks begin at sundown on July 4th. They will be launching from
Techny Prairie Park and Field and can viewed from Meadowhill Park and Velodrome.
